I have completed an intensive four years of professional training at The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling where I graduated with the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy in the Community. I am an accredited member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists.

My training is in Psychodynamic Counselling which is a theraputic approach which will help you to work through your difficult feelings and experience those emotions in a safe and contained environment. The term "psychodynamic" links psychotherapy and counselling with psychoanalysis. 'Psyche' the root word, as in pyschology and pyschotherapy, and is roughtly translated to mean 'mind', but also emotions and feelings. Emotionals and feelings are equally important features influencing and being influenced by interactions with body and mind. The dictionary translation of 'dynamic' is, energy or objects in motion, continuous change, activity, or progress. Hence, the energy and progress of our experiences and emotions and the way we related or reacted to them, internally and externally, help us to develop into the people we become.

Assessments or initial Consultation:

This is our first arranged meeting which will be to establish whether we feel that we are able to work together and if you feel Psychodynamic Counselling is best stuited for you. If we are both in agreement, we will dsicuss and arrange a theraputic course of individual fifty minute sessions. If my therapy is decided not to be suitable I will try to advise you on an alternaive or alternative therapist.

Supervision:

I can offer weekly, fortnightly or monthly supervision for qualified or trainee counsellors/psychotherapists, in groups or individually
